Mandy Megan is an experienced registered dietitian with over a decade of expertise in nutrition counselling, medical nutrition therapy, and chronic disease management. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Human Nutrition, a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition and is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree in Functional Medicine. Mandy Megan has worked in a variety of areas, including the hospital setting (acute care and ICU) and outpatient primary care.
Mandy Megan's skill set encompasses program development and nutrition counselling, with a focus on empowering her patients to make lasting lifestyle changes. She believes that sound nutrition education is essential but also emphasizes the importance of implementing nutrition-related behaviour change strategies to achieve positive long-term health outcomes. She has spent many years developing professional competencies in motivational interviewing and nutrition-related behaviour change strategies and finds these skills to be a key factor in driving positive long-term health outcomes. Her goal is to help clients feel their best, eat with confidence, and optimize their health for years to come.
Alongside her professional career, Mandy Megan has displayed her talents as a public speaker for various causes, including being an expert speaker for Diabetes Canada, and guest lecturing at Mount Saint Vincent University, Nova Scotia Community College, and the University of Alberta. She has participated as a Media Spokesperson for Dietitians of Canada Nutrition Month campaigns for over 10 years, is a Nutrition Tour Leader for Save-On-Foods grocery store, and is the author of her very own book, "Eating Healthy For Your Heart."
