Slice the turmeric and ginger into thin disks. Feel free to leave the skin on.
Add the turmeric, ginger, black pepper and coconut water into a blender. Blend on high speed for about a minute, until it's a smooth mixture.
Pour the mixture into a pot and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 20 minutes. Then add the lemon juice and honey and give everything a good stir. Let the tonic cool to room temperature.
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve, nut milk bag or muslin cloth into a glass pitcher (Remember, turmeric stains everything!)
Place your ice trays/ silicon molds onto a parchment paper lined sheet pan. Carefully pour the tonic into ice trays or silicone molds leaving a little space at the rim for expansion.
Place your sheet pan in the freezer. Once the shots are frozen, remove the cubes from the molds and them place in a freezer bag. Place the bag in the freezer for storage and easy access.
Notes:
Start your day with this immune boosting shot that also reduces high blood pressure, aids in blood sugar management, provides clean energy, burns fat and soothes the digestive system. Oh BTW...It's delicious!
To serve: Place one cube in a glass and allow it to melt. Mine usually takes about 20-30 minutes.
Drink Enjoy and Be Well! (Be sure to use a REUSEable straw!)
Each serving is approximately 1.5oz.
