454 gm | Green/yellow string beans, raw (ends trimmed) |

Parboil green beans: bring a large pan of water to boil and add trimmed & washed green beans. Boil for 5-6 minutes. Drain water and set aside.
To cook bacon: Fry bacon in pan until cooked through. Remove bacon and lay out on papertowel to cool. Keep about 2-3 TBSP of the grease. (You'll want to turn off the heat while you remove the bacon)
Add garlic to bacon grease on medium heat. Cook 1-2 minutes. Add onion and green beans. Cook until green beans are fork tender (or to your preference).
Drain excess grease. Chop bacon into chunks and mix with green beans & onions.
