Mix the grated ginger, chopped cilantro, salt, pepper and canola oil in a bowl.
Add tilapia fillets into the bowl and coat well with the ginger mixture.
Let the tilapia sit in the marinade for a half hour. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375F / 190C .
Grease baking dish with 1 tsp canola oil. Lay the marinated fish fillets flat on the baking dish (do not layer them on top of one another). Bake fish for 15-20 minutes. The fillets are ready when they are golden brown and easily flaked with a fork.
