1/2 tsp Vanilla extract, pure
1 cup Baby spinach
1 medium Frozen banana
1 tbsp Cacao powder, raw
1 tbsp Chia seeds
2 date pitted Medjool date (optional)
1 tbsp Chai Spice (Chai Spice Yerba Mate is best)


If you are a dark chocolate lover like me, this is a dream combination. The chai spices, while unexpected, brings all the flavors to life. This smoothie not only tastes fabulous, it’s chock full of antioxidants and gets in one serving of green leafy vegetables to start the day!

Yerba Mate is a traditional South American brew that’s been said to offer the “strength of coffee, the health benefits of tea, and the euphoria of chocolate”. Yerba mate contains 17 vitamins and minerals, 11 polyphenols and exhibits more antioxidant power than any other tea-based drink.

1. Warm nut milk and steep tea bag for 15-20 minutes.
2. In a high speed blender, add all ingredients in the order listed. Blend on high speed for one minute.
