Chocolate Avocado Mousse

2 avocado(s) Avocado (ripe, black spots removed)
4 tbsp Cacao powder, raw (3-5 tbsp, as desired)
1/4 cup Maple syrup, pure (or liquid stevia)
1/4 cup Lemon juice (or lime juice)
1/4 tsp Vanilla bean powder (or 1 tsp vanilla extract, optional)
10 drop(s) Hazelnut oil (or favourite oil, optional)
2 tsp Orange peel (zest) (or lemon zest, optional)
1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper (optional)


Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor until creamy and smooth. Assist with a spatula to scoop down the sides.

Taste and adjust if desired. Add more sweetness/flavour.

For mousse: refrigerate 4-8 hours or overnight or freeze for 2-4 hours in a metal bowl preferably and stir occasionally. For ice cream: freeze 6-12 hrs.

Keep airtight in refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 weeks.

Serve with a mint/basil leaf/raspberries, and/or sprinkle cacao powder or coconut shreds on top.
