Protein and fiber rich healthy chocolate candies that are made from just 2 ingredients – chickpeas and chocolate.
Ingredients
2 can (15oz)
Chickpeas, canned, drained
(2 Cans 15oz)
4 serving (60 chips)
Lily’s Dark Chocolate Baking Chips
(or other baking chocolate)
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 350F / 180C.
Drain and rinse the chickpeas then spread flat on an oven pan lined with greaseproof paper.
Bake for about 50-60 mins, tossing every 15 mins until dry.
Take out of the oven and place in a bowl with the chocolate and stir using the chickpea heat to melt.
Spoon onto parchment/non-stick baking paper using a spoon and chill in the fridge for 30-60 mins to set.
They will last for several weeks in an airtight container if the chickpeas are dried thoroughly in the oven. Store them in the fridge and enjoy within a few days just in case there was too much moisture in the chickpeas.
Notes:
Chocolate Recommendations: Use any baking chocolate that you want, preferably one that has less than 12g of added sugar per serving.
Please be careful to be aware of the ingredients that are in the chocolate prior to purchasing them. Avoid sugar alcohols, high contents of stevia, aspartame, xylitol, malitol, etc.
