When working out it is important to consume adequate amounts of protein for muscle growth and recovery. Often times individuals who are vegan tend to get confused as to what foods are a good source of protein that are not animal products. Well, in fact, there are multiple sources of non-animal foods that contain high amounts of good quality protein. The most important consideration when it comes to eating vegan sources of protein is to ensure that you are consuming all 9 essential amino acids throughout the day. You do not need to consume all 9 in one meal, however, you should be mindful to consume multiple sources of protein throughout the day at each meal to ensure that you are getting all 9 essential amino acids.
This collection contains multiple recipes of vegan meals that are high in protein and carbs that would be great to consume at any time of day, pre or post-workout. Be sure to mix and match to ensure you are getting variety and meeting all your nutrient needs.
