Ingredients


2 medium Apple (preferably McIntosh, peeled, cored and sliced)
1 whole lemon(s) Lemon juice
1 small head Green cabbage (thinly sliced)
1/4 cup Honey
1 tsp Caraway seed
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Black pepper
1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
908 gm Pork shoulder, whole (fat trimmed)

Instructions


To Freeze and Cook Later

  1. Label your freezer bag with the name of the recipe, cooking instructions, and “use-by” date.
  2. Add all ingredients to your freezer bag. (Add apples and lemon juice first to keep them from browning.)
  3. Remove as much air as possible, seal, and freeze.

To Cook

  1. Thaw the freezer bag overnight in the refrigerator or in water in the morning.
  2. Cook on low setting for 4 hours in a 6-quart crockpot or 8 hours in a 4-quart crockpot.
  3. Slice or shred pork. Serve with rice.
