Ingredients


2 cup Flaxseeds
1/2 cup Red chili pepper (also chile or chilli) (seeds removed (optional))
2 tbsp Curry leaves (optional)
1 tsp Fenugreek seeds
2 tsp Sea Salt (or as needed)
1 tbsp Sesame seeds (optional)
4 scape Garlic scapes
1 tsp Turmeric, powder

Instructions


  • Dry roast the flax seeds and sesame seeds in a pan over medium heat until they become aromatic. Remove from heat and let them cool.

  • In the same pan, dry roast the dried red chilies until they become crisp. Remove and set aside

  • In a blender or food processor, combine the roasted flax seeds, sesame seeds, dried red chilies, garlic clove, curry leaves, and salt. Grind into a coarse powder.


Optional but tasty: 

For Tempering:

  • 1 tablespoon oil (preferably sesame oil)
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
  • Few curry leaves


Transfer the Flax Seed Chutney to a Jar and enjoy it with your meals.
