454 gm | Green lentils, raw |
1 medium | Yellow onion |
1 tbsp | Garlic powder |
1 tsp | Salt |
1/2 tsp | Black pepper |
8 cup | Water |
1/4 tsp | Paprika (or Cayenne) |
1. Soak lentils overnight to reduce cooking time. Rinse using a colander and add lentils to a large pot.
2. Peel yellow onion and dice into small pieces.
3. Add onion, water, and spices to pot with lentils. Cover pot.
4. Bring pot to a boil, reduce to low simmer, cover, and cook for another 20–30 minutes until lentils are soft, but not mushy
5. Enjoy!
