Ingredients


450 gm Beef, ground, lean
3/4 tsp Black pepper (to taste)
1 cucumber(s) Cucumber (seeded, chopped)
1 clove(s) Garlic (minced)
1 tsp Granulated sugar
3 cup shredded or chopped Iceberg lettuce
1 tsp Onion powder
1 1/2 tsp Oregano, dried (dried)
4 large pita Pita bread, whole-wheat
1 cup Plain yogurt, 2-4% M.F.
1 large Tomato (chopped)
1 tsp Salt (to taste)
1 medium Yellow onion (chopped)

Instructions


In a bowl, combine yogurt, cucumber, 2 tbsp onion, garlic and sugar. Cover and refrigerate.

In separate bowl, combine ground beef and seasonings. Mix well. Shape into 4 patties.

Grill patties, covered, (you can also use a toaster oven or broil them) over medium to high heat for 10 to 12 minutes or until meat is no longer pink, turning once. Cut patties into thin slices.

Stuff each pita with one beef patty, lettuce, tomatoes and onions.

Serve with yogurt sauce.
