1. Place the lemon juice and ginger in a mug.
2. Pour hot water over lemon and ginger and let steep for a few minutes.
3. Remove ginger and let tea cool a bit before drinking.
Steep your favourite tea into the mix, or add 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar for a digestive aid.
Plant compounds found in lemons — namely hesperidin and diosmin — have also been found to lower cholesterol.
Ginger contains a compound called gingerol, which is a powerful antioxidant and is anti-inflammatory.
