Take your morning bagel to the next level. with this Herbed Bagel and Lox recipe, packed with fresh herbs and smoky salmon.
Ingredients
8 tbsp
Cream cheese
(room temperature; softened)
1 1/2 tbsp
Chives
(fresh; minced)
1 tbsp
Dill, fresh
(fresh; minced)
1 tbsp
Lemon juice
(fresh)
1/2 tbsp
Lemon peel (zest)
4 medium bagel (9-10cm dia)
Whole wheat bagel
(Everything bagel)

Salmon, smoked
1/2 medium
Red onion
(thinly sliced or julineed)
2 tbsp
Capers, canned
Instructions
Place the cream cheese in a small mixing bowl.
Add chives, dill, lemon juice, and lemon zest and stir to combine.
Half and toast your bagel.
Spread the herbed cream cheese onto each of the bagels.
Add the smoked salmon, red onion, and capers to half of the bagel. Top with the other half and enjoy immediately.
Notes:
Cooking for one? Refrigerate the remaining ingredients for the following day.
Food safety tip: When storing smoked salmon, put it on the bottom shelf of your refrigerator, where it's coldest. Unopened, it will keep for two weeks; after opening, one week.
