1/2 cup | Medjool date |
1 cup | Water (3/4 cup hot water and 1/4 cup cold water) |

2 pepper(s) | Red chili pepper (also chile or chilli) |

15 gm | Arrowroot (about 1 tablespoon) |
Put the dates and hot water into a blender and let sit for around 5 minutes until they have softened.
Add the garlic, chili, lemon juice and salt and blend until smooth.
Pour the sauce into a pot and cook until bubbling on the stovetop. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
In a cup, mix the arrowroot and 1/4 cup cold water and stir into the sauce. It should thicken quickly.
