|1/2 cup||Medjool date|
|1 cup||Water (3/4 cup hot water and 1/4 cup cold water)|
|2 pepper(s)||Red chili pepper (also chile or chilli)|
|4 tbsp||Lemon juice|
|15 gm||Arrowroot (about 1 tablespoon)|
Put the dates and hot water into a blender and let sit for around 5 minutes until they have softened.
Add the garlic, chili, lemon juice and salt and blend until smooth.
Pour the sauce into a pot and cook until bubbling on the stovetop. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
In a cup, mix the arrowroot and 1/4 cup cold water and stir into the sauce. It should thicken quickly.
Note: 1 serving is 1 tablespoon
