Cut the fish into portion pieces if not already. Season with salt and pepper, drizzle with olive oil.
Place into the steamer and cook for 15 minutes. If you do not have a steamer, place a pot of water filled a quarter of the way on the stove. Bring a boil and place a strainer on top of the pot so that it is above the water. Place the salmon pieces in the strainer. Leave over the boiling water until the fish cooks all the way through.
Serve with rice or steamed vegetables.
