| 1 cup | White rice, parboiled, dry |
Wash parboiled rice with cold water until drained water runs clear.
Place rice in a sauce pan and cover it with 1 1/3 cup water. Bring the water to a boil on medium-high heat. Reduce heat, cover saucepan and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
Remove from heat and let the rice stand for 10 minutes. Serve.
*Parboiled is partially boiled rice in the hull - a process used to drive nutrients from the hull to the endosperm (the rice itself). Parboiled is a low glycemic index choice of rice.
