Slovak Pumpkin Soup (Prívarok)

Ingredients


4 tbsp All-purpose white flour
2 tsp Cayenne pepper
1 cup Cream, half and half, 10% M.F.
1/2 tsp Dill, dried
1 tsp Granulated sugar
6 cup cubes Pumpkin
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 cup Sunflower oil
2 tbsp Vinegar, white
1 medium Yellow onion (chopped)

Instructions


Start with frying chopped onions in a saucepan, add salt and red pepper.

Scrape the pumpkin and remove the seeds, cut into chunks; add it to the fried onion with peppers.

Simmer it until the pumpkin is soft. Add a bit of water to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom of the saucepan.

Mix the cream with flour and dill and add it to the mixture. Bring to a boil, then add the vinegar, sugar and salt to achieve a sweet-and-sour taste.

Serve hot and enjoy!
