4 medium Green Apples
20 date(s) Dates
2 tbsp Butter, unsalted
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Salt
4 tsp Coconut oil (melted)
114 gm Dark chocolate


  1. Place dates in a saucepan and cover with water.
  2. Boil until mushy (35 minutes).
  3. Drain the water.
  4. Blend the dates with cinnamon, butter, and salt.
  5. Cut the apples into a flower bloom shape.
  6. Place a square of dark chocolate in the centre.
  7. Put a generous glob of the date mixture (the mixture does about 4 apples) on top.
  8. Bake until soft (mine took 45 minutes) – half way through, when the apple is beginning to spread, take it out and spread the caramel over it a bit more along with 1 tsp coconut oil to each apple, getting it in the crevices.
  9. Serve immediately with ice cream, cream, vanilla maple coconut cream, or natural yogurt on top.
