Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup

2 tsp, ground Basil, dried
1 leaf Bay leaf
1/2 tsp Black pepper
2 medium Carrots (chopped)
1 cup diced Celery
2 tbsp Parsley, fresh (chopped)
1/2 tsp Rosemary, dried
1 tsp Sea Salt
1 1/4 cup Split peas, raw (rinsed)
4 cup Water
1/2 small Yellow onion


Layer the ingredients in the crock pot (split peas on the bottom, topped with onion, celery, carrot, and herbs); reserve the parsley.

Cook the soup on high for 5-6 hours or low for 9-10 hours.

If at the end of this time the soup is not thickened to your liking, remove the lid and turn the dial to ‘high’ until it reduces to suit your taste.

Garnish with parsley, ladle into bowls, and enjoy!
