1 cup Steel cut oats, dry
2 1/4 cup Water
1 medium Apple (diced)
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 cup Raisins, seedless (sultana)
1/3 cup Almonds, toasted (roughly chopped)
1 1/2 tbsp Maple syrup, pure


  1. Prepare oatmeal according to package directions with water in a medium pot.
  2. When the oatmeal is cooked, add chopped apple, cinnamon, and raisins into the pot and bring to a boil on medium-high heat. 
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer covered for 15 minutes, stirring often. When the oatmeal has thickened, remove it from heat and serve with toasted almonds on top and a drizzle of maple syrup.
