Squeeze the juice from the lemon half into a small bowl; set aside the squeezed half. Stir the olive oil, rosemary, basil, oregano, and parsley into the lemon juice in the bowl.
Rub the mixture over the chicken and season with salt and pepper. Place the lemon half in the cavity.
Place the chicken in a roasting pan and roast for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until the skin is nicely browned and an instant-read thermometer inserted in the thickest part of a thigh registers 165°F.
