1 1/2 cup Lettuce, spring mix (mesclun)
6 slice Tomato
6 slice Bread, sprouted, whole grain, Ezekiel
227 gm Tempeh (tempe)
1/2 avocado(s) Avocado (sliced)
1 1/2 tbsp Maple syrup, pure
1 1/2 tbsp Barbecue sauce
1/2 tbsp Soy sauce


  1. Cut tempeh into small strips.

  2. Mix together maple syrup, soy sauce and BBQ sauce. In a shallow dish, marinate tempeh in maple BBQ sauce mixture. Flip to coat well and let sit for about 10-15 minutes.

  3. Preheat oven to 350° Fahrenheit

  4. On a rimmed baking sheet, line with foil, then place down tempeh strips.

  5. Bake for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  6. Prepare your sandwich: layer bread, tomatoes, lettuce, tempeh and any other toppings of choice.
