Baby's First Bites - 6 Months Week 3

I hope you had a chance to batch cook some of baby’s favourite purees last week so you’re ready in a pinch.

THREE things we'll add this week:
1. We are adding a second meal. I just want to note that the amounts are still going to be more then what your baby will eat. And at first your baby may not be into adding a second meal right away or just eat one or two spoonfuls. That's ok too. Just aim for consistency.

2. Another thing we’ll do this week, if you haven’t already started, is to add “water” to the mix. We don’t want water to replace breastmilk or formula, but it’s a good time to introduce between 1 to 2 oz max. While babies don’t need it per see, it is helpful to help them “wash down foods” or after periods where they “exercised” those little area and leg muscles. I’ve added it in the breakfast section, but really can be sipped through the day. It also does not have to be filtered water. You can also do chia water, chamomile tea, fennel tea to soothe tummy aches as well.

3.This week, are are also going to focus on adding more "fat" to the diet. When reheating your purees or finger foods in a sauce pan, add 2 tsp for each 2 oz of puree, enough to cot the bottom of the pan and mix it in.
