Stage 2 Gut Healing Program: Replace
During stage two of your four-stage Gut Healing Program, the focus will be to support your digestion and continue to remove unwanted bacteria and yeasts such as candida or SIBO. This stage can be done alongside stage one or after and will last for around 6-8 weeks.
During this stage we want you to continue with removing common allergens outlined in stage one; gluten, dairy, egg, soy, corn, nuts, and legumes. Furthermore, continuing on with low FODMAP, low histamine, Paleo, and low glycemic (sugar-free) approach.
The food focus will be to include digestive acidifiers, enzymes, and bile acids to help support our bodies' digestive processes. This collection will include apple cider vinegar, bitter foods like arugula, dandelion, and radicchio as well as enzymatic foods like papaya and pineapple to support our body. Ginger and peppermint can be continued to help soothe the gut.
It's important to review your Food Journal to track what is working for you, as gut healing programs vary from person to person. We have added foods such as eggs and chickpeas for those who are looking for more vegetarian-friendly recipes and are okay digesting these foods.
