Stage 4: Repair ( vovan 2)

Stage 4 Gut Healing Program: Repair

During stage four of your four-stage Gut Healing program, the focus will be on repairing the gut and re-introduction of foods that were initially removed.

This collection will be whole foods focussed with a Mediterranean Diet-Brassica family intention.  There will be a focus on including high antioxidant foods, and foods that contain bioflavonoids such as citrus fruits, cherries, peppers, and onions. Foods with a higher essential fatty acid content such as salmon, trout, flax seeds, chia seeds, and hemp seeds will be added. Foods that will support the liver such as brazil nuts, seafood, and sunflower seeds will be included as well. Furthermore, foods that are high in glutamine such as chicken, fish, beans, beets, cabbage, and carrots will be added since glutamine is an essential amino acid that will help heal the gut lining. Vegetable juices, celery kale, parsley, and fermented foods will also be included to support the gut healing process.

This collection will also include pre and pro-biotic foods from stage three as they will still be needed to help heal and repair the gut. Continue with ginger and peppermint for soothing the gut as well.

Using your Food Journal during this stage is imperative as you start to re-introduce certain common allergens or foods that were once avoided. Remember to try and re-introduce foods one at a time so you can track symptoms associated with foods and remove the food for an extended period if you notice symptoms re-appear.
